Dissapointing Track Times
Dissapointing Track Times
For some reason, I just cannot get a better time than 9.5@76 in the 1/8th. No 1/4 mile tracks near me. I can't launch good enough for anything lower than a 2.3 60ft. It just bogs off the line. Had a G8 years ago, and in stock form it ran sub 9s in the 1/8th. Is the tune that much more restrictive on this car?

I'm not a drag racer but I can tell you the stock tune sucks. It's very conservative with lots of Torque Management. The spark tables are backwards and ride on knock retard through the midrange and then decrease with RPM after max torque.

i think it has alot to do with the tq management , and being set up to limit wheel spin to a minimum

what gas do you have in it and how old are the 02 sensors? I had a low miles car with a lazy 02 that was pulling timing out on 87 octane no idea why, but i had no way to know that until the car was logged and someone looked at it.

it will pull timing on 87 no matter what. If op is on stock tune, that's why it's lazy. needs less TM, better shifts, and more fuel/spark,
