Hey guys made it to Arizona got super busy with work. Still beating the crap out of her and keeping her looking good. Changed the wheels and tires a couple days ago to Camaro ss wheels I got powder coated a while back with some 275/30r20 in the back and 245/30r20 in the front. My next goal is coil overs to lower her a bit and then Brembo brake calipers.

Finally the appointment for the front window tint. Park anywhere and run inside and no one questions it cause they think it’s a officer or a security guards car. Works at every Costco guaranteed lol POV random lady upset I was in the fire lane.

Isn't tinting the whole windshield illegal? I know it is here, even for cop cars. Just the top part is legal. We also have restrictions on the amount of tint on the front side windows.

No yea it’s illegal. But in Arizona everyone does it. The cops only ticket for that if they’re fishing for something or you’re driving bad. I didn’t have my tint on for even three hours and a cop made a u-turn from opposite traffic and tried to pull me over leaving Costco. Luckily right hand exits come at you really fast fast.

Why would you do that? Are you trying to act like you are a LEO? Parking anywhere you want just pisses everyone off and you will either end up with a ticket or getting your car keyed. Also you make it more difficult for other LEO's whose public perception goes down because they think you are a LEO and abusing your "privilege" to do anything you want. Even when I drove a marked unit I never parked in the fire lane. You set the example for others. I use to tell the younger officers unless your car has "fire" written on it don't park in the fire lane! I also try to blend in when I am not working. Last thing I want to do is have someone identify me while I am out with my family. If you are a wanna be LEO then apply for a LE job, go to the academy, and make a difference helping society. If you are a LEO then blend in. Don't make yourself a target. Don't draw unwanted attention that is going to get you shot or killed someday. I don't mean to sound like a dick but you got to think how your actions affect others.

I also have to agree there with one exception. I parked in fire lanes or anywhere safe IF it was an emergency call. If it was a routine call, yeah, I parked it in a proper spot.

You're just asking for trouble every which way with it.

Lmao waiting in the fire lane with five other cars to get your curbside delivery isn’t trying to be a wannabe leo or abusing anything. I get what you’re saying but that’s literally where you’re supposed to wait

That's not what you said, you said "Park anywhere and run inside".

Great post, and definitely relevant on this forum for a bunch of reasons, so thanks for doing it. The following comments are no reflection on the original post. I think they just bear repeating. There's no shortage of folks that think along those lines. As soon as I brought my Caprice home a neighbor asked if I was going to add anything to it so I looked like a cop going down the road. My first thought was "Hell no!" I would never want to bring any attention to myself, either positive or negative. I want to fly below the radar. Invisibility beats high visibility every day of the week.
It's a particularly tough time to be a LEO right now. They have an incredible amount of scrutiny (some deserved, most not) from a society that spends all day looking for a reason to be offended. I don't want anyone looking at me that way, and I certainly don't want my behavior being pinned on them.

From a selfish point of view, in today's environment you're way more likely to have your parked car vandalized if someone thinks it's a cop car than a private vehicle. Even if I was a cop I wouldn't want my personal vehicle to remind anyone of one.

My 2 cents (actual street value)
Joe
