The cheapest I found when I ordered them was from World Parts Direct's website (not their eBay store nor Amazon page). The price was still high, but the overall cost with shipping was the lowest and their Amazon listings showed they had some in stock as well.

2014-2017 Chevy Caprice PPV - Replace Cooling Fan Control Module / Wiring

Post by rcg530 »

My 2014 Chevy Caprice's cooling fan control module's wiring harness connector had been melted by high heat due to poor electrical connectivity.

I was able to obtain a wiring harness pigtail from a local wrecking yard 2017 Chevy Caprice PPV along with the control module and fan wiring harnesses.

In this video, I replace the bad wiring harness connector and replace the cooling fan control module and fan harnesses.

2014-2017 Chevy Caprice PPV - Replace Headliner

Post by rcg530 »

My 2014 Chevy Caprice's roof headliner was in horrible shape. It needed to be replaced.

I was able to obtain a headliner from a local wrecking yard with a 2017 Chevy Caprice PPV.

In this video, I replace the headliner and give some quick tips about installing the headliner.

Thanks for the vid. I hope to never have to pull ours, but it's nice to have this handy should I have to. I've been up under the headliner removing the plugs for the old antennas, but got what I needed done w/o pulling the headliner. It was close, though. Note that with the headiner in place, the white side unsulation/baffling is VERY coarse! I rubbed my arms almost raw trying to pull the antenna plugs and install antennas in the mid-roof area.

What's that thing below your CMBL, a rear-facing dash cam? Thanks.

Yes, I have a 2-channel Thinkware F800 Pro dash camera installed in my Caprice. I first installed it into my 2017 Chevy SS Sedan and removed it when I sold the SS. I have the external battery pack (for extended parking mode recording time) strapped to the bottom of the rear deck lid area in the trunk.

2014-2017 Chevy Caprice PPV - Cooling System Refresh

Post by rcg530 »

My 2014 Chevy Caprice has 112K miles on the odometer. It's time to refresh the cooling system components.

I replace all of the engine bay cooling system hoses that are under pressure when the system is warm along with the water pump and radiator cap.

I had to repair a break of the nipple at the top end of the radiator during this process as well.

2014-2017 Chevy Caprice PPV - TPMS Relearn / Change Cold Inflation Pressure Values

Post by rcg530 »

A TPMS system is required to alert the driver of a low tire pressure event when the tire pressure is 25-percent under-inflated.

You need to inform the TPMS subsystem when the tires/wheels are rotated so it knows where it should find each of the TPMS sensor ids.

I perform an extra step of reconfiguring TPMS subsystem in my 2014 Chevy Caprice PPV with updated cold tire pressure inflation values and tire types.

2014-2017 Chevy Caprice PPV - Replace Rear Shocks / Sway Bar End Links

Post by rcg530 »

I replace the rear sway bar end links and shocks in my 2014 Chevy Caprice PPV.

I learned an important lesson on how to get the suspension knuckle back into the lower control arm.
