Basically set the SS Cradle on Jack stands, and set the car back on it! Took some fine tuning to get everything lined up on the way down, and actually used 2 floor jacks to lift the cradle to the car the last couple inches
Popped the SS Springs in the front, even though my old Minnesota patrol car gave up a fight coming apart, it wasn’t too bad

I think I have found a way that we can put these consoles in our cars without needing the center support specific to the 9C3. It does however involve butchering up a series 1 G8 "shifter trim" (the piece that the shifter screw to and the trim pops into. What I wound up doing, is cutting the support portion out, and screwing the new bezel trim to it. My phone was dead, so I did not get pictures of the canabalization. However I will post pictures of what I cut off. I broke the 12v tray that I had, so a new one is on order. When I take the trim back apart to install, I will take pictures of what I did to make it work. I am super happy at this point! I Jerry rigged the tap shift to test, and it functions as described, with no gear display, and no saftey shifts. My pins for the bcm are on the way!
Hi,,,great work!!
I have a police car the caprice ppv 9c1. I have ordered the full middle console & the shifter of a g8 & got it all installed! I wanted the tap shift function (toptronic). I already installed the shifter same switch fits like a glove. My only issue I’m facing is tap shift (toptronic) mode isn’t working it’s just on “D” as it show on dash like how the old police shifter was (P,R,N,D,L). It should be (P,R,N,D, then slide to toptronic sport mode). I honestly don’t care about dash if i can just use tapshift I can keep track of which gears or install a piece for which gear I’m in.
Q1) I heard it needs to be programmed?
Q2) if it needs programming how do I go about it?
Q3)does it need to be wired?
Q4) what do I wire specifically? & if there is a diagram?
some say needs to run a wire to control module, but don’t be specific on which plug & wire.
Q5) I need some clear specifics on which wire? where each wire go?
Please I need help to be on the track to complete my build.
