Found a cheap solution for AC idler pulley

Post by Jimbojones »

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop some info for the community. I was helping my buddy today with his 2012 PPV and we were replacing the AC idler pulley, but didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for the GM part, or wait for a cheap one from rock auto. We went to Napa and had the clerk start opening boxes up to match the old pulley. We found one that was the same diameter, the same 6203 bearing, but a bit wider. The pulley clears without rubbing anywhere. We didn’t use the included clamshells or bolt. The supplied bolt is attached with a locking washer, I pried if off and removed all the included hardware, and re-used the factory hardware. It’s runs great. And it’s only $18.29. The NAPA part number is 36322. Included some photos also.
