Post by CHEVEN »

2012 V8 PPV runs fine temp normal and hoses to and from heater core hot hot hot ....but no heat heat heat :( brrrr. Although not driving in the the snow or salt be nice to feel that toasty warm air. Any in-site as to which one of the few actuators is the cold/hot ?

How many miles on it?

Some of the G8 gus have had luck with flushing the heater core. Maybe clogged up?

I see in the service manual that there is a left and and right side Temperature Valve Actuator. That both of them would be out would be extraordinary.

Try putting HVAC control to dual and take the drivers side to cold and the passengers side to hot. IF you can feel a temp difference in the two sides then the doors are working. If they feel the same then yea doors are not responding.

i'll give that a try, there has been some dept. hacking going on under the dash on the pass. side so I need to see if anything got cut that shouldn't have been or disconnected ...like a ground. Depts love to stack their grounds on factory ground spots but when it comes time to remove stuff its CUT < CUT<CUT with no regard to factory or upfit wiring. (common with the old B-body caprices in the truck where the ground for the fuel pump often cut when radios and stuff were removed)

I know it is a little old topic but did you ever find your issue? My 2012 i just picked up has issues with heat on pass side but not driver side and was wondering if you found the issue.
Im assuming mine is a blend door or bd actuator defunct but havent dug in quite yet.

Have you tried just cycling it cold -> hot -> cold? It seems the blend doors 'crack open' or something like that on our '10 Tahoe PPV, but going full hot, then full cold usually fixes the issue, for a while.

I figure the doors are stuck ....the car has been setting for a long time and its from TX so I'm guessing the foam seal is all gummed up if its anything like other GM's ? I have a pile of car that used to be a Caprice I have to take a closer look at the flaps.

thanks
