2011 Caprice Wanted

Post by camrat68 »

I thought we had found the perfect 2011 Caprice. Got the loan and drove 740 miles one way to look at it only to find out it was mis-represented. Now we're looking for another. Prefer the 2011 but any 9C3 would also peak my interest. I would prefer to buy from an enthusiast on this site rather that a BS artist like the owner of the one we looked at in Somerset, PA at Terry's Auto.

Thanks,
Jim

Wow, you drove close to 1,500 miles on a failed deal and had to abort a loan? Methinks that I'd be making that dealer's life a tad bit miserable over that. I'd consider calling the consumer reporter for the local TV station that serves Somerset & give them a little interview. Also file a complaint against his dealer's license in the State of PA and file complaints with both the BBB & the Somerset Chamber of Commerce.... that's just not right, and it took both your time & money.

Hope you find better success with the cars posted here.

Thanks
Eric

Live in Appleton, WI and drove to Somerset, PA and back in 29hrs.

There was body damage to the drivers side and passengers that didn't show up in the pictures that I obsessed over for the ten days prior to actually driving the car. The suspension rattled the same as a car I bought years ago with cut coils. The dealer rep (Brad) wouldn't answer how the car was lowered. I was told it had all new exhaust from just behind the cats to the bumper. It turned out to just be a muffler swap with flex pipe. The pass fender had been unbolted and shifted according to the paint witness marks and jived with the scraped bodywork down the pass side. The brake pedal went almost to the floor with every use and there was brake fluid on the lip for the master cyl reservoir. Obvious brake problem.
He was asking several thousand more than average due to the "mods".
