Hi enthusiasts/experts.
I have been discussing insured values with the insurance company for an as agreed value price.
What does the group think about market value
2012 Red 9C3 6 cylinder (28+mpg 78mph on freeway)
17,000 highway miles (I purchased from an engineering company 10 months ago with 4000 miles, test car for fuel management)
Rear Camera
Chris White upgrade.
Trunk mat
Like new condition, back seat unused, no dings, etc.
Seems to me it would be an easy 20k on the open market, opinions?
Thanks,
Rob

Re: 2012 9C3 Red 17,000 highway miles value me vs insurance
I would guess the 6 cylinders would go for about 40 % less. I think 20 is even high for a V8 at this point.
My thoughts:
15K for a V6
17K for a V8

Thanks for your thoughts Steve, insurance company thinks 13k.
15k seems a bit low for personal use 17k easy miles, but there is only one way to find out.....
Any others with thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks

Steve is pretty close if not spot on. Remember, this is a non-advertised brand for civilian population use by Chevrolet. The marketability in the eyes of the valuation companies does suffer as a result of it being a police only vehicle. Most of the time the books only factor in cops driving these cars, no differentiation in a car used in a non-police application.
BUT... remember there's one enormously large problem with "book value", the books can't write you a check when it comes to sale time. If you can find a buyer that is willing to pay you what you want for the car when ready to sell, you've pulled off a win.
Good luck!
Eric
