14 Caprice at dealer, they can't sell it..

Post by Towcutter »

I dropped a note of interest to this dealer as I saw it on CFS.com.

Turns out there is an ongoing seat-belt recall that they say cannot be fixed, so they cannot sell it...?

They can sell it if they aren't a GM dealership, non GM dealers are not bound by a GM stop sale.

They are a chevy dealership (LibertyChevrolet). I looked at that car, it was white so I didn't inquire as I don't really want a white one. They appearntly had 6 or 8 of them originally.

Wow, that's a nice car. The price seems pretty high though, given that it's not exactly super low miles anymore. I wonder how much wiggle room they might have.

I agree, priced too high. I purchased a brand new 2014 Caprice (Black V8) just like this one with 12 miles on it for $29,000.00. This one is very clean. I'm sure they will have to come down in price quite a bit. This is the type of Caprice that you should be after, rather than the other one you posted about. Just a friendly suggestion :) Have a great evening.

Thanks for the advice Dave, I tend to agree. If it was a '11-13, I'd already have my haggling hat on. I much prefer the earlier interior to the 2nd design though.

You like the console better than the column?

Yes, I'm a small guy, and the 9C1 shifter is a very natural place for my hand to rest while driving. The "column" shifter in the dash just looks strange to me. The major difference for me is the gauges. The early design looks much simpler and cleaner to my eye. It fits better with the overall theme of the car.

Ah. I'm used to the column shift in my vehicles, the 2013 I drove the console shift was to close to my leg.
