The only thing I did was drive around the oval--did not do any competitive events (PPV was not an awarded "class") - Barry & Tom's wife did race.
Hot & humid, but a nice venue and good time had by nearly everyone--except for the breakages, which were relatively few.
Photos available online (not sure how long they'll be viewable) - there are other PPV shots, did not link all

Thank for posting the link Bill.Navy Lifer wrote:(PPV was not an awarded "class")
We took a lot of picture, I'll post them soon too.
I was not aware that there was not a PPV class.
They told us the officers voted to have us there and make a new class for us.
When the car show judges came around, they told me I had won the PPV modified class and Tom had won the stock class.
We assumed we were going to get an award.
We even asked after the awards and before the BBQ dinner about why we weren't recognized.
They said they forgot and would announce it after the dinner because everyone was hungry.
They never did announce it, even after all the auctions.
We did not let that little glitch scar a otherwise fantastic event.
I had a ball running my car around the tracks.
First time for me on the drag strip, 14.52, 100mph.
I did a respectable 59.3 on the road course once it dried off.
I was a not so good 104 the first run on the wet and goose poop!
The autocross was huge and confusing. I DNFed the first three runs.
Then they put more cones out and I did a 107 without any penalties.

Barry, glad to have that cleared up--I only meant that I was not aware of awards actually being given (trophies or plaques)--but as I don't think anyone complained about the new cars being there, without regard for whether they truly "fit" simply by being "Caprice", or by virtue of being V8/RWD, but otherwise lacking any real similarity to overall characteristics of B-body. As someone put it, the WM Caprice would be a somewhat logical progression since the B-body was last produced nearly 17 years ago.
I will say I didn't stick around in the waning daylight--the time crunch was evident at the end, and I can understand how some things may have been dispensed with, whether intentionally or not, such as the PPV recognition. There was lots of hardware to auction off, and that probably took up a good bit more time than anyone realized it would.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing with us. Wow, never seen a B-body with an inverse-flip hood, that was creative....
