Charles, thanks for keeping us updated and BTW - welcome to the system!! Anyone that wants to take a ride down to beautiful sunny Florida to have a nice time, this show will be worth it. Everyone I've met in the local G8 community here has been top-notch so far.

Here's just a little more updated info. on the show from the show page;

We just added an online store to allow you to register, pre-buy food, and Shirts. It's dirt cheap, and if we cover our costs, we will be happy, if not, we will still be happy! The T-shirt image is NOT the final design. IF YOU WANT A SMALL, MEDIUM, 2X, or 3X, YOU MUST PRE-ORDER. We will ahve a limited number of Large and X-Large available throughout the show. http://florida-g8-car-club.myshopify.com/

I would like to announce the G8 Extravaganza BMR Special discount pricing! 25% off of retail for CASH, 15% off for Debit/Credit. NO CHECKS! This price is valid for Extravaganza participants and can be picked up at BMR on June 29th. If you would like to pre-order your BMR swap (this is the only way to gaurantee they will have it), please email me your Name, Address, Email address, and what you want to pick up (part numbers) @ sendmemymail@gmail.com If you are not sure what to order or have technical questions, contact kyle@bmrsuspension.com. Kyle and Rich from BMR will also be joining us Friday night for some BBQ! https://www.facebook.com/events/475211942552357/

Thanks

Hi, guys! Anyone from here attending this event? We will be at the Swap Meet at Sonic on Saturday night and probably at the BMR event. We will have RepliCast replica HSV wheels on display so you can see them in person and will have exclusive specials for attendees! We are also donating a $100 gift certificate! Hope to see some of you there!

Yes, I'll be attending both Friday night and at BMR on Saturday (think we're going to be putting the PPV up on the lift according to Kyle) as well as the Sonic show Saturday night. Look forward to meeting you.

One of our other members is supposed to be attending the Saturday night show as well, hope he makes it over.....

Thanks for your support of the show!

Had a very good time at the show. Had an opportunity to meet the folks from BMR Suspension and also George from Replicast wheels. BMR is interested in doing more research on the Caprice and possibly fielding some Caprice-specific suspension products down the road. I've agreed to let them use my car for a test mule and anticipate some good things there for our members down the road. We put my car up on the lift at BMR on Saturday and let everyone scope out the suspension and undercarriage, also let the BMR folks test-drive it. Here's a pic...

The turnout itself was very good, an unofficial number I heard was 57 cars (including a few GTO's and myself as the only Caprice). We had some issues with rain at various times during the show but all in all it was well worth attending. Thanks to Charles and the Tampa crew for a good job! Here's a view of some of the cars I took yesterday evening before the car show from the second floor of the hotel...

great parking lot picture....the PPV looks absolutely HUGE next to the black G8. Partly, I think, the wheels being pushed out on the G8 in that particular case make the car look a bit narrower.

Interesting white G8 at center of picture with a different front fascia--George, do you know if that is a custom or stock but different model--maybe a GXP?

Hard to tell from picture, but it does look like there are at least a few G8's there with a "shark fin" on the roof in place of the longer antenna...another thread has a bit of info on the roof & window (embedded in upper section of rear glass) antennas, and while I'm not sure what is correct, the PPV uses one for FM and the other for AM reception, since there's no OnStar or other satellite system in the stock (PPV) configuration. Question is, if the intent is to retain AM/FM function & performance, is there any way to do that and still switch to a "fin" antenna?

Finally, a picture of G8 trunks open showing the carpet trimmed (boot) lid. Now that I'm done with the work on my car, at least in that area, I can install the carpet I've been keeping quiet about for literally months!
