Dead radio?
So my radio may have died. When I turn on the car, I get the Chevy start up symbol, and that's it. It won't load into radio. I haven't tried a CD yet. I have tried power cycling the car a few times. HVAC all works still with no issues. I entered engineering mode and attempted a factory reset, but nothing happens. I press the button and no change is made. Is it possible my radio is dead? I may try to pull a fuse next and see what happens. The radio has all factory software.

Re: Dead radio?
There have been reports of dead radios sporadically but they always seem to pop back into working on the next key off and on cycle. Keep us updated.

Re: Dead radio?
After about 4 key cycles it seems to be back on. Very strange...

Just seems the software needs sort of a reboot, second try at starting up sometimes. Other folks had same issue here:

Although it sounds as if they did not get the bow tie logo like you did.

Re: Dead radio?
Very common occurrence. I keep mine on a battery tender, and leave the AC off. Seems to prevent it from happening. When it does happen, it will boot back up after a few cycles of the ignition, or a thirty minute break.

I did see this thread, but he stated that he had zero functionality from the interface; no HVAC, radio, or response to touch. I was able to open "CONFIG" menu, engineering menu, etc. I could even get it to say "phone not supported" "nav not supported" etc. It just would not load the radio. Once it booted the Chevy logo, it would hold that until i opened another menu, then be stuck on that unless I opened a new menu. The "Factory reset" button would show interaction, verifying that I had pressed it, but would not actually do anything. Either way, it seems to be functional as of now (knocks on wood) but if it occurs again I will update the thread.

I would love to have your upgrade, but I'm not even trying to pull that mess out of my dash!

Exactly why I haven't done it, either.

Re: Dead radio?
I would love to get that done, I just have to come up with the scratch. My better half and I are in the process of buying a house and prepping for the newest family member to arrive. Unfortunately, that puts my hobbies on the back burner.GTPprix wrote:Part of our upgrade fixes this, have had great luck in the field
