Found a couple of more goodies...

USB / 3.5mm receptacle GM part # 20870101 (might have a revised #)

6-pin connector for above part (for Aux-in) PT2278 GM part # 19167753

USB is just a USB mini-pin socket...

Looking to put this in the center console... :-)

Finally found the Delphi Part numbers for the Quadlock radio connector...

60012841 2.8mm DCS2 (X1 and X2) - >1.0-2.5mm wire
60012831 2.8mm DCS2 (X1 and X2) - 0.5-1.0mm wire
60012811 2.8mm DCS2 (X1 and X2) - >0.22-0.35mm wire
60080131 0.64mm Duotwin (X3 and X4) - 0.5-0.75mm wire
60080111 0.64mm Duotwin (X3 and X4) - 0.22-0.5mm wire

Not cheap... Bought 10 of each, which cost me just over $50... Let me know if you need a few...

Hey Tom,

All the research you've been doing has been super helpful. I'm trying to figure out, will any PPV radio that you add the AUX connector to work without a software upgrade? My friend's PD PPV says something like "no source detected" when we try to cycle to AUX, my assumption is that is because of the source detection wire, is my assumption wrong? Thanks for everything!

That is my understanding for the front Auxiliary inputs...

As for the rear auxiliary inputs (audio and video), RSE has to be enabled, just like the rear view camera...

Thanks,
Tom

Cool, well that's good to know. Have you successfully connected your front Aux input? Also were you able to determine if the X3 and X4 connectors parts you posted in the other thread do in fact fit? I'm a bit confused with the X3 pin out since I don't see a aux trigger pin listed? My friend just got issued a department PPV and really wants the front AUX input, considering he'll be in it for at least the next 6 years, so he's allowing me to tear his car apart if need be, so if you haven't been able to do it yet I'd be happy to work with you to figure it out. Thanks!

Haven't yet... going to buy the USB receptacle above, and see what I can do about connecting wires to it without the connector... The receptacle is fairly cheap... the connector is expensive as hell...

I'm going to finish up the rear seat Entertainment inputs first, since I already have the video working, and I've heard that the sound quality on the RSE is better than the front auxiliary... might be because of the signal switch...

So I tore apart my friends PPV today, and here is what I found:

The x3 x4 connectors are part of the main connector to the stereo.

I then jumped the radio with Battery, ground and serial so it would stay on. And I wasn't sure which connector was x3 and which was x4, so I tried adding the aux in on both and even tried grounding the trigger pin on both, but no matter what I did the unit still says "Auxiliary Source Not Available"

So my questions is, are we positive this will work without flashing the radio?

Did you run a wire from the detection signal to the common negative, or to one of the channels (positive)?

Might have to have the RSE enabled to get the front aux working... not sure...

Looking at the pictures, I don't think you have the correct pins wired up...
