Radio on-off
Radio on-off
This weekend while cleaning my car at a car show I found that my radio will come on if you push the power button. This is with no key in the ignition and the doors wide open. I knew the radio stayed on after the key was removed and then went off when the drivers' door is opened. The drivers door was wide open - in fact all the doors were open and I was in the passenger seat cleaning the dash when the radio came on as I was wiping down the dash. Am I just the last one to find this?

Re: Radio on-off
Someone else on another forum mentioned this as well I seem to recall. I'll have to check mine tomorrow....

Yep, me too. I thought many new cars did this, so it wasn't very shocking to me.

Re: Radio on-off
Is it explained in the Owner's Manual? I have not looked....and does it STAY on, or go into a 10-minute "power down" cycle?
What happens if the (driver's?) door is closed--radio stay on or go off?
What happens if the (driver's) door is closed and re-opened?
Does this only work at the DRIVER's door, or any door?
Can the radio be turned on (with no key) with doors closed?
That's right...my car is on it's daily use pattern with the wife, so I can't go check the answers to these questions!!! I just wanted to document them so I can check later....

I played with some of this when I first got the car, but forgot by now all of the outcomes! LOL. Guess we need to play again...Navy Lifer wrote:Is it explained in the Owner's Manual? I have not looked....and does it STAY on, or go into a 10-minute "power down" cycle?
