Need Fog lamps that actually work, What do you have?

Post by Turbopowered68 »

Post up some nighttime pictures/videos of your fog lamps shinning down the road.
I tried a set, they look good just sitting there but are useless for lighting the road ahead of you.
Looking for the next set to try.

This is my first failed attempt.

Don't know if you've looked at previous discussions regarding fog lamps, we had quite a few in the earlier days of the system. In the parts index section off the main forum menu are all the part numbers you will need to install factory OEM (style) fog lamps in the appropriate holes. Now, how you switch them is up in the air. The 11-13 cars are different from the 14-17 cars in the control methodology, although the lights & projector hardware itself "should" be the same fitment across the board for 11-17 as the same front end is used.

Toggle switch anyone? :)

Like a true rookie I ran new wiring from engine compartment into the cabin not thinking about the dead/not being used upfitter harness right next to the fuse block.
Anyways I have lighted push-ON push-OFF trigger switch in the cabin already.
I just need good lights.

I just ordered everything that "Sol CA" Dude from one of the FB groups used on his car. everything was under $100.00 shipped, I should have it in a few days.
If those don't work the next plan is to add some high output H4701 in the fog lamp location. The H4701 work just fine in my work truck, only concern is how well will they perform from such a low position.

Can I prevail upon you to publish the list of what you ordered along with PN's? There may have been some updates along the way to what we put together a while back, I'd like to keep the listing current so other users can follow-along with you since if this works it can be replicated as long as the parts stay in stock.

Thanks

I ordered everything from Rockauto.

http://newcaprice.com/partsindex.htm

This lists all the parts and their numbers. I used the GM USA Fog lights, same ones used on a Cadillac SRX. I ordered the chrome fog light surrounds from lsxtreme in australia. I think I ordered the last set.
