I bought a portable car vac that plugs into a cig-lighter port. It works okay and I’m going keep it in the car for cleaning while waiting... as husbands/fathers often do.
It has a very long cord and decided a power port in the trunk is the way to go. I bought something off Amazon for $10 and installed it today. Very easy instal. Only regret is the always-on LED for the USB power ports. I may add a switch, or try and remove the LED.
Here’s pics...

Looks great!
I’m jealous of your trunk interior pieces staying put, mine refuse to stay in place.

That LED is just a telltale that the USB charging ports are powered up. So even if you kill just the LED, the charging port will still use power even if not used. If you're not planning to charge your phone in the trunk, you should just disconnect that portion of it.

You're saying that a USB port (without an LED) uses power if there's nothing plugged into it? If that's true, I didn't know that.Mooseman wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 10:27 pm That LED is just a telltale that the USB charging ports are powered up. As far as the USB port in the trunk... I was hesitant on that at first, but more and more things use that port for low voltage power. With it in there, I can easily charge a couple items that I may have in luggage or a computer bag. The power wires have in-line fuses and I did remove the fuse for the USB ports.

Thanks. I'm lucky with the liners, although they could fit a little better. I also need to get a cover for the battery. I'll have to get that directly from a GM part seller when I have enough items to order that will warrant the shipping costs.Ilikemtb999 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 6:01 pm Looks great!

Yup. Same as home chargers. The power draw isn't as much as with something plugged in however the draw is there. That being said, it is minimal and may be an issue if you leave the car parked for very long periods of time.
