I don't know if this has been posted already. Anyone with a new Caprice knows the limitations of the factory radio. I was introduced to a low cost way (around $20.00) to use your smart phone to add these missing options. It is a power outlet plug-in that takes the bluetooth signal or aux cord and broadcasts an FM signal to an unused station on your radio so you have iTunes, GPS and hands free phone through your radio.

Caprice PPV radio hack
Re: Caprice PPV radio hack
How do you find the audio quality? They have been around a while but the audio quality always seemed lacking.
I tried some of the Isimple interfaces on my nieces car and they actually connected inline to the radio antenna so audio was supposed to be better. Was pretty good while it lasted. Eventually crapped out.

Re: Caprice PPV radio hack
I use a similar device, a Scosche BTFM. Sound quality is really no different than factory radio through the factory speakers. Only real issue is when in a larger city. There are little to none free fm frequencies and the fm stations over power it. But I live way out in the sticks, most of the time it is no issue for me.
For when I am in the city, I use a Tronsmart self powered BT speaker, model Element T6. It fits perfectly in the door panel’s “cup holder” bulge out. It actually sounds pretty darn good. It does have the ability to connect to two of them for true stereo, but I am only using one.
I would prefer to do the White’s fix. It’s clearly the way to go. But this works as a stop gap.

Re: Caprice PPV radio hack
I've got one of these as well.
It works but completely sucks in my '13 compared to the WAMS modded stereo in my Wife's '12.
I have a WAMS modded '12 stereo ready to go into the '13 as soon as it gets warm enough that I'm not breaking stuff.
