When I bought my car, it had no remote, just plain old keys, no buttons, nothing. I have two of them. Do I need a new "master key" to add a key with remote to the car? Car does not have remote start, though I would like to add in the future. Could I just buy this and use with an existing key blade or is it not that simple...

You won't be able to use that remote on its own without a new blade to go with it, getting it cut and programming of this new blade/chip to the car.

To avoid some of these expenses, what you could do is get yourself a flip key and use an existing key blade in it by cutting and modifying it to replace the blank one that comes with it. I used this one however I had the blanks cut (at $30/key). You would still need to buy an actual remote to use its innards. You would need to dig out the security chip out of one of your current keys.

The dealer is actually doing the key recall, maybe I'll just bring in the remotes to have them match them up since they will already have new blades.

Just figured I would update this for closure:

I had the key recall done, but didn't have my remotes at the time (And didn't feel like taking another 130/hr charge for them to navigate the DIC for 2 minutes) so I was stuck with the janky valet looking key that I only had two of when I purchased the car.

Then I took my key blade only to my car, unlocked the doors and followed the directions in the owners manual I believe on page 2-12 (learning new RKE remote).

Super easy, and after I heard the two beeps as mentioned in the manual, I took the key out, joined the sections together, tested every button, and all works (besides remote start).

Took 5 minutes, maybe. New remote came with a battery already installed and was just in need of programming.

Will be buying another in the future either when I get my BCM programmed or when I have a few bucks burning a hole and buy more repair parts.
