Adding a subwoofer

Post by Tom Slick »

Ok, I'm getting ready to work on a few more upgrades to my radio...

Was wondering... would it be a good idea to use the center channel speaker outputs as my subwoofer signal, with a LOC of course... Any thoughts?

Definitely going to connect the RSE audio!

The center channel might be high passed from the stereo. I know higher end multi-channel systems usually are. If you have an RTA (best/easiest method), or an oscilloscope and a CD with test tones on it, you can figure out if the center channel has a full range output.

I was thinking the same thing... If I get time, I'll try connecting a speaker to the center channel... once I pick up the contacts for the Quadlock today!

Will probably just splice off the rear channels, into a LOC unless the center channel is full range!

I think my biggest challenge will be how to secure my subwoofer enclosure in the trunk... I have the optional floor tray in the trunk, and don't want to remove it or drill into it...

Might have to figure at a way to strap the enclosure into place...

Any thoughts, ideas?

I got busy with other things, and didn't do anything else with this...

Was just going get an output converter to run signals to the sub-amp from the rear speakers...

I did add the Amp power signal line to my quadlock connector...
