GTPprix-Did you ever get a volunteer? I have a '12 and a '13 that need some programming work so that I can use the USB and AUX cables I purchased. :D

After a marathon session of reading old threads here it looks like I could just get a radio from a '12 and have it programmed and get my rear speakers back with proper output?

THink that is correct Jim.

Since you got both a 12 and 13 in front of you one thing I have never seen confirmed though is if the 13 radios even have the pins on the connector for the rear speakers. One member mentioned the wires were there but not sure they connected to anything when plugged in. Also if you can distinguish what part number each silver box is it could help people identify them when for sale. Wondering if they were changed for 13 at the model year break or if there is a specific VIN break where it happened.

I was trying to find pics of the silver box for just that reason. I've seen brand new receivers for sale and was considering it but don't want to end up with exactly what I already have. I'm just waiting for it to warm up enough to give my plastic parts half a chance to survive removal.

Something to look into, 8 channel sound processor from Rockford Fosgate. Bluetooth tunable, and seems to be a good substitute without having to customize the radio itself. Uses a wire harness to bridge factory connection, the firmware will be downloaded into the DSR1, so may be a question if our car is supported. Good concept and idea nonetheless. Thought I'd share.

A review of it here. http://gaugemagazine.com/rockford-fosgate-dsr1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

LOL!

I managed to find a used silverbox pn 92265524 which was advertised as fitting a 2011 PPV but comes back to a 2012-13 radio. What connector am I looking for? I tried finding pictures and came up empty. I took very detailed pics of what I have but need to re-size them before posting.

Finally got some time between shifts. I'm still trying to figure out whether I have all of the speaker connectors on this spare silverbox. I need to pull the one out of my '13 to compare them.
