Rebuilding a seat

Post by impalaplt »

I picked up a set of Chevy SS front and rear seats for my 2015 PPV....

The rear's were easy to install.....

I'm getting around to doing the front's, and it appears that the Passenger side seat might be "TWEAKED" just a little bit, like it got bent from a body being in it during an impact. The air bag didn't deploy, and, I can't say for sure that it is off....

I'm going to install it and sit in it to test it out....

BUT, I know there's a way to rebuild/replace the seat frame. There is still a listing on GM Parts online for that upper seat frame for the passenger side.

So, I know it CAN be done. The question is, has anyone done it?

I think I remember a thread where guy's were basically re-skinning their PPV seat with the G8 Leathers, and it seems like there was some level of tearing the seats down. I can't find that thread.....

So, any tips? Tricks? Links??

I did post this on the Chevy SS forum also.....

Thanks
Gene

It must have been the way the seat was sitting in the garage....

The seat went in just fine. I've sat in it, and no twist, no tweak, so "PANIC" is cancelled!!!

It moves up and down, back and forth, and reclines....

I'm not sure about the Lumbar support just yet....

One down, the "HARD" One to go.....
