Just an update, so far so good, the rear seat with the pass through bolted right in, if you do this, be sure to also get the side door sill pieces to fill in the gap between the door and the seat sides from the G8, they will be too long, and will need trimming at the top, and at the base where the side extension is too long, but otherwise they fit fine, the profile matches the door in the Caprice.
Working on the front seats now, current plan is to simply swap the foam and leather seat covers on to the Caprice seat frame. Note, the 2014-2017 seat headrest removes like the SS, rotate the round plastic escutcheon, and look for the eye of the cotter pin that locks the head rest rail in place, it is held in place, just push it towards the rear it is spring loaded, doing this for both rails.
The 2014-17 side air bag is inside a sewn bag that is attached to the seat, while the G8 simply sets behind the seat cover with no sewn bag.
So far, the G8 foam and covers fit over the 2014 Caprice frame, obviously the clip points to stretch the cover will be different, but my major concern was would the G8 seat foam and covers be the right width and length, and they seem to be.

I know this is an old post, but how did this work out for you?VintageIron41 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 1:00 pm Just an update, so far so good, the rear seat with the pass through bolted right in, if you do this, be sure to also get the side door sill pieces to fill in the gap between the door and the seat sides from the G8, they will be too long, and will need trimming at the top, and at the base where the side extension is too long, but otherwise they fit fine, the profile matches the door in the Caprice.

Was it more difficult than swapping into a 11-13?
I want to swap to g8 leather but I’ve seen different statements about if it can be done.
Any feedback you can give would be great

Note that the Caprice filler pieces are available (or were when I got them) from GM. Those drop right in and fit with zero trimming.VintageIron41 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 1:00 pm Just an update, so far so good, the rear seat with the pass through bolted right in, if you do this, be sure to also get the side door sill pieces to fill in the gap between the door and the seat sides from the G8, they will be too long, and will need trimming at the top, and at the base where the side extension is too long, but otherwise they fit fine, the profile matches the door in the Caprice.

Thanks for the feedback. My main concern is the front seats and installing them in a 2014, I have the vinyl rear seats that came with my caprice and those are fine. I just don’t like the cloth front seats.CrashTestDummy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 11:43 amNote that the Caprice filler pieces are available (or were when I got them) from GM. So your saying to install the rear G8 seat you also need the side filler pieces from the G8 as well? Is that the only other thing needed? Can you post some pics if possible thanks

I'm trying to do this exact swap. Any update on how seat cover transfer went? Any issues encountered? Thanks.

Do you have a part number on the side filler plate?CrashTestDummy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 11:43 amNote that the Caprice filler pieces are available (or were when I got them) from GM. It's been a while, but I believe they're called 'Lock Pillar Trim' in GM-speak. Here's what I found for my 2012:Groundczero wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 10:51 amDo you have a part number on the side filler plate?CrashTestDummy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 11:43 amNote that the Caprice filler pieces are available (or were when I got them) from GM. Right Lock Pillar Trim - GM (92233193)
Left Lock Pillar Trim - GM (92233195)
Note that the left one is showing as 'Discontinued' on the GM Parts Direct website.
Looks like they're not even listed for a 2014. That, or I'm not looking in the right spot, or they found some sort of new and improved name to give them.
