Has anyone done this and/or have a guide on how to do a simple swap...knowing that I'll lose some functionality.

Swapping just the seats is problematic since the Caprice seats have the side air bags. You’d have to get the correct resister to install into the air bag plug in the car’s harness to keep the MIL lights off.

G8 seats have airbags too, but the plugs are different on the passenger seat.
a straight swap is a simple bolt in, but disables your airbags...
really building the two seats into one gives you a full power seat, which is nice, and its not that hard of a project if you follow wigid's guide
