Plasti dipped the chrome surround. Got rid of stupid gold bowtie.

Still trying to figure out what to do with the holes in my bumper though.

Have a pic of that to post? I am debating painting my door handles.

The pushbar covers on a white car look hideous. Of course, on a black car, they can hide it until you see the car in person. :-/

Either way, that tape doesn't last long.

Although I'm not too warm to the flowtie, I do like the Plasti-Dip treatment. I'd black out the bowtie too. I'm thinking of blacking out everything on mine since I can't find a chrome trim for the rear quarter window so I'll make everything match.

Are you using the 3M metal body tape on the bumper in that picture? I was thinking of doing that and then covering it with some gloss white sign vinyl as a temporary fix. It doesn't look like it wants to sit flat though so I may need to rethink that.

I saw this prepainted aluminium crash tape. It looked to be thicker than the 3M, but it is hard to tell and I have no experience with it. The rubber adhesive might show an outline.

Maybe this is something that autobody shops carry. Or maybe someone else has used it and can comment.

On mine I scuffed the chrome surround and painted it. Then I removed the bowtie and separated the gold from the chrome outline. (Held together by adhesive) then I plastidipped the chrome part red and the gold part black. I glued them back together and re installed on the grill. Looks really good and reminds me of the 454SS truck bowties of the 1990s.
