Thanks for the help! I'm headed back out to the shop to fool with it some more shortly. I'll check those seats again, and then I want to pull that divider out of there. I'm 6'4" and I need all the leg room I can get.
I ordered my DOD Delete stuff today. Putting in a Brian Tooley Stage 2 Truck Cam in it. I can make them idle smoothly, so running it with a stock stall converter won't be a problem.

Thanks for the help!
I got the divider out, and now the seat slides way back. I'm REALLY happy about the leg room in there.
I pulled most of the center console off. I left the bottom layer and reinstalled a metal cup holder that was in the car.
I reconnected the rear door release cables so you can get out of the back. I'm going to order the door lock rods and get them installed once they get here.
Next I looked t getting the rear window switches to work. The BCM sees the switch inputs but doesn't do anything about it, so it has to be a programming issue. I'll see if I can program it with a different option code to get those functional again. It's not a necessity, but it would be nice to have them working.
My neighbor used to detail cars and he stopped over for a minute. Then returned with everything he needed to remove the remaining decals and glue from the car. He showed me how to do it. I'm about 25% done with that. The bad news is that both front fenders were painted at some point, and they taped off the decals to so it, so I have a lip on the fenders where the paint ended around the decal. I'll see what my paint guy has to say about it. If it's going to be a hassle to fix, I'll just leave it.
This afternoon I'll tear the engine down and get ready for my DOD delete. I ordered my parts yesterday, along with a Brian Tooley Racing Stage 2 Truck Cam. That'll wake it up. LOL.

That's actually not a terrible idea. Maybe a pinstripe or even a decal. My daughter would vote for flames. LOL.

Fooled with the car a little again tonight. I finished getting all the decal glue off the car. No pics, but it looks pretty good.
I pulled the left head off it and cylinder #7 is washed pretty clean. Here's pics of the cylinders, head and #7 intake lifter. I can't believe it made no noise at all. It wasn't going to go much further before it caused more damage. I'll get the other head off tomorrow night, then pull the valves in prep for getting my DOD delete kit. I'm interested to see what kind if horsepower I make with that cam and a square port head. It works nicely with the cathedral ports.
Pardon the dirty fingernail!

As expected, the cam is hammered too.

And like an idiot, I left one lifter in the bore by mistake. It dropped into the engine. Thank God for the windage tray. I fished it out near the oil pump.

Those are great pictures. That lifter was a small time bomb.. It's great that you caught it.

Your heads (if factory) should have been LS3 style rectangular port heads from the factory. Those would be 5364 or 823 castings. Lots of great info on your engine (if factory) here: https://www.onallcylinders.com/2018/06/ ... cam-specs/

Going back together. Lots of little things holding me up. The tensioner was broken, so I had to pull the oil pump. To do that I had to drop the pan, then find a pan gasket and oil pump o-ring. There was an intake plenum bolt missing, had to chase one down.
I'll get it finished tonight if I don't have any other setbacks. I haven't tuned anything with virtual torque tables yet, so I'm looking forward to learning something.

I got the car rolling by Sunday night, and on Monday AM I took off on a work trip. I've put 300 miles on it since then. It'll be 900 miles before the week is out. I've been fooling with the tune in it since I left. It has a goofy anomaly, going lean on a tip-in acceleration, goes way lean for about 2 seconds then corrects itself. I haven't been able to find the cause of it yet, but I'll get it eventually. The Stage 2 cam works fine. Lumpy idle, more HP, plenty of torque.
It smells like it has a coolant leak when standing outside the vehicle, but I can't see anything anywhere. Not even when it's on the lift. I have to take a closer look at the radiator when I get back home. Until then it doesn't appear to be losing enough to worry about.
When I finally got to drive it, the stability control message came on and it had a code for the steering angle sensor being out of bounds. It needs an alignment, and the wheel is off center. So for now I zero'd the steering angle sensor with the wheel off center and the message is gone. I''ll do the alignment on Friday and then re-do the steering angle sensor and soft stops.

Rear door lock rods are on super-intergalactic-backorder. The local dealer called me to tell me he needed a VIN to order them.

The AC quit on me for a short bit. It was still blowing cold, and the blower motor was sure working hard, but no flow out of the vents. It wouldn't even change temps. I stopped for gas and when I restarted the car it was, and has been ever since.

It's good to have it running.
