"Stock" 2013 Caprice PPV Alto Grey

Post by IM_STOCK_PPV »

One obligatory first post ahead. I bought the car back in late April of this year and have finally got around to joining and posting! I've always been a fan of the Pontiac G8, but my bank account made me a bigger Caprice fan LOL. In all honesty I am more than happy with my Caprice and excited to build it this upcoming winter (Michigan is not rwd V8 friendly...).

The car was completely stock when I purchased it (Had to use dealer pictures due to forgetting to take stock pictures, idiot move on my part!). Since then I have straight piped from the cats back (Homemade budget friendly LOL), replaced the steel wheels with some gunmetal Enkei EKM3 wheels, tinted windows, removed spotlight, blacked out chrome and emblems, SS Camaro LSD Differential with Chevrolet Performance 3.91 gears (No track testing on new gears), and just recently purchased a MPVI2 from HP Tuners to delete DOD and calibrate the speedometer (plan to tune car myself after winter build).

So far at the track (US 131 MSP) my best 1/4 time came in at 13.63 @ 103.38 MPH with the 3.45 gears and some nice 315/30R18 HOOSIER Drag Radials on my steel wheels. Plan on doing the Texas Speed DOD delete kit and dual spring cam package with Stage 4 "F-35" cam.

Welcome. Nice looking car so far! I hear you on the winter "build". NJ ain't terrible but I figure I have winter tires for my daily, no need to put the Caprice through it. Might make the very few times I take it out on a sunny day that much more enjoyable.

Have fun with the mods.

Welcome! Nice color. I saw a service vehicle that color when I was heading home from a vet visit one afternoon. He was parked on an entrance ramp to IH69 in Sugarland, Tx. I waved when I went by him in our black car.

Side note, what kind of reaction did you get? The few PPVs that are in use by a sole local dept give me fairly perplexed looks if they notice me driving by...

I don't dare wave at the state police here

Fortunately I work for a Chevrolet dealer so I got discounted prices on the wheels, differential, and 3.91 gears! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the Texas Speed upgrades (Hence the 6 month Michigan winter build lol).

His/her tinted windows and my tinted windows + me negotiating traffic limited looking at the car much as I drove by. But when going down the tollway, I DO get cruisers, marked and unmarked, pull up and have a look before rolling on. Our car does look like an in-service car, so I guess they're trying to figure me out.
