FNG to 2012 PPV

Post by HoldenPPV »

We live in the Pacific Northwest and we are a two week old owner of an ex WSP car. Camaro take off wheels on it and Solo Performance axle back exhaust installed by prior owner. Looks great, sounds perfect.

I bought and plugged the Range Technology AFM disabler in it today. If you are considering one of these my first impression after two hours of use is it makes the car far more pleasurable to drive. But more on that later after more use and obviously will be a post for a different topic area then.

Pics... sure! Weather is crummy here today so just posting photos from prior owner that I kept. The only change to the exterior so far is the license plate number, lol ;)

Welcome....9C1 or 9C3?

Washington's a big place--what area are you in?

What size tires are on the car now?

Not stated, so assume the car is V8

Too bad WA requires front plate!

Sorry... had not looked at responses in a couple days!

To answer the questions:

>9C1 or 9C3?
9C1

>Washington's a big place--what area are you in?
Out in the boonies. 15 miles east of Castle Rock, WA.

>What size tires are on the car now?
245 50 18 Goodyear Eagle Sport (no rubbing ever, but would REALLY love to get Holden mud guards on it as my driveway is almost 1/4 mile of gravel that I currently don’t exceed 10mph on)

>Not stated, so assume the car is V8
Yes, the L77 V8

My youngest boy has a 2007 BMW 335i (twin turbo inline 6) that is a little rocket ship. But he loves the sound of the Solo Performance axle back exhaust on the Caprice. We went for a ride in the PPV, I let him drive. He says he thinks it’ll keep up with his BMW. I don’t think so, 600-700 lbs of extra weight is just too much to overcome that BMW in my opinion, even with it’s extra 55hp and 84ft.lbs. torque (Bimmer rated at 300/300). Plus his car was actually purchased in Germany and came with German plates on it. I think I have read somewhere that euro spec cars are usually tuned slightly hotter than the ones they import for dealer sale here. He’s probably playing pool shark with me setting me up for the big money bet! Lol...

Oh well, no matter. This big car has plenty of grunt for me. Other than someday going with a very mild cam while the AFM is mechanically deleted, I am not going to mess with the engine mods much.
