New to the forum and have a couple questions.

Post by Sleepy.Caprice »

I recently bought a 2012 Caprice pc1 and it has these problems, was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of what seems to be the issue.

Steering wheel lightly shakes and braking and shakes harder when applying more pressure to brake.

Rattling in front end whenever going over bumps, doesn't effect steering at all. ( was suggested problem could be motor mounts )

Wanting some new brakes and was wondering what some good suggestions and what would work.

Sleepy,
Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of good people and great information available here. I would recommend that you search the suspension section of the forum index. Several people have documented their suspension problems and the cures. Could be an upper strut mount down to lower control arm bushings. Several discussions on brakes also. Anything from stack replacement to bigger Brembo brake upgrades.

If the wheel shakes a little when you are on the brakes lightly, then shakes harder as you brake more, then you almost certainly have warped rotors. Replace them with a quality one available at your local parts store. There is a far outside chance you have a really bent wheel or hub causing it, but you also have a far outside chance of winning the lottery. It's possible, but pretty unlikely.

Lots of possibilities on the front end noise when it comes to our cars. Every part under there fails. You're going to have to do some detective work to find it. As Pursuit says, do some searches here and on youtube.

There are a few forum posts specific to the steering wheel shaking when no brakes are applied, and in those posts there's a cure that was successfully applied. Again as Maurice suggested, browse the posts in the pertinent sub forum. I found those in less than a minute.

Good luck!
