Scored some 2015 Camaro take-off wheels

Post by bsparks72 »

Got these take-offs that had 20 miles on them. There's a shop that does work for new car dealers. He said he had these for a while and wanted to just blow them out. $400! I'm tempted to get 2 matching front wheels, and run all the same size so I can rotate the tires...but I do like the staggered look.

Nice. I've been thinking of looking for 19" take-offs, but was concerned about how they'd look. I'll be interested to see how these look on your car. Those should save some unsprung weight.

Of course this comes around when I had pretty much decided to keep the stock wheels and use up the tires I just bought about 5k miles ago. Oh, and I wanted the full 9C3 wheel covers, so I spent another couple hundred bucks on those too! They're still in the box. I wonder if I should get rid of all that once I get tires, as they'd probably sit in the garage forever anyway. If you know any local takers, I might entertain that.

I think the 19s look good. There's a pic of one somewhere in the 5 page post about Camaro 20s. Someone has the 19s and posted a pic.

Yes, I saw that. They said they were Camaro RS take-offs. I'm looking for those. Figure I'd put Hoosier A7s on them for autocross.

Yep, those would work out nicely. I'll keep an eye out for them.

How much do you want for the 9C3 Wheel covers? I have three that are damaged and two of the four are truly brake dusted up beyond repair.

on the other hand, they do look nice (Scott Walker has them on his PPV)--in fact, to me they look better on Caprice than they do on Camaro.

viewtopic.php?f=20&t=461" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (his are Midnight Silver finish, used in 2013)

Ironically, for proper fit, the 9" rear wheel needs more offset and/or a smaller tire than is used on Camaro in production.

20" wheels get heavy quick, but aftermarket does offer some lighter options--all tend to be more expensive, and in many cases, I suspect the wheel load rating (as followed by GM's engineering practices) is more of a wink & nod situation.

Many wheels out there are like flying without a parachute--you can't even get the manufacturers to tell you what the specs are, or they're nowhere near as robust as OEM-supplied wheels.
