Replicast Super Sports
Replicast Super Sports
I finally got them installed. They fit better than Camaro SS rims. No more rubbing, even with the staggered tires. The rims are 20x8 all around.

Wow... gives it a whole different look!

What size tires are you running?

275/35R20 for the rearTom Slick wrote:What size tires are you running?

245/40R20 for the front
I wanted to run the same size tires all around so I can rotate the tires, but I already had the tires when I had the Camaro SS rims. The 20x9 Camaro rims rubbed when I hit a bump.

Re: Replicast Super Sports
Greg,
They look good! Is the 275/35 "rated" for fitment on an 8" bead, or is this a matter of using up what you had?
Can you provide a picture of the car back far enough from the rear and low so we can see how the tires fill up the rear openings?
In a perfect situation (all 4 tires same size), what tire size will you use?
Make sure you let George Lugo (Cajun G8) know you've got 'em on the car now.

Yes the 275s fit the 8", it doesn't bulge out. I wanted 245s all around, but I already had the tires.Navy Lifer wrote:Greg,

Looks good, Greg! The rear tires are probably not supposed to be on 8 inch wide wheels, but they sure don't look pinched!

I had a set of 275/50R17's on 17x8" rims, and they did just fine...

Re: Replicast Super Sports
Yes, but that's a 5.45" tall sidewall on yours vs. a 3.8" sidewall on the 275/35R20. That makes a difference when they decide the range of approved widths for a tire. The shorter the sidewall, range of widths available will differ. Ideally, the 275/35R20 should be mounted on 9.0-11.0" wide wheels. Greg could probably suffice with what he's got now, but when it comes time to replace the tires, it's probably better to go with a tire more suited for 8" wide wheels.Tom Slick wrote:I had a set of 275/50R17's on 17x8" rims, and they did just fine...
The other downside of putting too wide of tires on too narrow wheels is the handling can get a little squirrelly.

When it's time to replace the tires, I'll get the matching tires as the front so I could rotate the tires properly. For now, they are fine.Cajun G8 wrote:Yes, but that's a 5.45" tall sidewall on yours vs. a 3.8" sidewall on the 275/35R20.
