9c3 wheel cover torque # to tighten the screw on lug cap?

Post by l77 »

Or just hand tighten them? Please pardon me if this is a noob question.

My stock wheels are back on the car with snow tires. Have bunch of visual upgrades sitting in the garage (side indicators, mirror covers, side chrome moldings and spoiler) waiting for warm weather, unfortunately in Wisconsin this means 6 months from now. We just had a massive cars pile up on snowy 41/45 near German Town on Sunday, luckily no death and serious injuries. Doesn't look like youtube embedding is supported or I will post the video.

Just looked, couldn't find the info in my 3-book FSM. Sorry. Hand-tight should be fine.

On mine, I will push in on the center of the wheel cover to get another turn or two on the lug cap. The "notches" seem seat a little harder. And they will not unscrew as easy you would have to press in on the center of the wheel cover again to remove. A little theft prevention?

My two cents
