18" Camaro Wheels
18" Camaro Wheels
I finally got around to having the tires moved over to the Camaro wheels. The stock tires fit fine on the 7.5" wide rims.
It doesn't look like a cop car with those heavy steels off. The next thing on my "looks" wishlist will be a mild lowering with springs.

That looks pretty good sir, and hopefully was a good deal
Re: 18" Camaro Wheels
$300 for the rims (in mint condition) and $88 to transfer & balance the tires.xcidmigs wrote:That looks pretty good sir, and hopefully was a good deal
I stewed on having them powder coated hyper black, but decided to have that $$ go toward the radio upgrades next week.

Re: 18" Camaro Wheels
OE take-off Camaro 18" wheels are hard to beat, too bad they're only 7.5" wide. I ran the first-design (2010-2012) 5th Gen 18's (5-spoke) for several years, and still have one as a spare.
I do have the 4 Camaro wheels that were on the ground and would consider selling them if anyone is interested. The tires--Continental DWS all-season in stock size--are still mounted, but pretty much worn out.
The new 2016 Camaro standard 18" (V6) wheel is 8.5" wide, but offset is 32mm, which puts the wheel almost too far out--but just the right width for a 255/45 tire.
They're a bit plain, but that just means there should be quite a few of them showing up as take-offs. Re-finished, they should look really good.

There are a number of other GM/Chevy wheels that will also fit--current FWD Impala & 2013-2015 Malibu have the same center bore, wheel stud pattern, and usable offsets. Just not sure about caliper clearance, especially for anyone thinking of doing a Brembo upgrade.

Funny article when considering what my photoshopped license plate above reads... http://www.953mnc.com/News/Indiana/2016 ... attle.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have 2015 impala 19x8.5 wheels and they clear the factory brakes fine!

Re: 18" Camaro Wheels
I just found a set of 2014 Camaro wheels, just like these 18inch, but the tires are larger than what I have on the car.
They are 245/55R18
5x120
with TPMS
Will they fit or do I have to swap over the stock tires and TPMS?

Re: 18" Camaro Wheels
The tire in that size doesn't fit the car and even if it did would change your speedo and also trans shifting so I would say get the originals put on those wheels. I used my Caprice OEM TPMS on the camaro wheels i bought so not sure if the camaro ones will work on the caprice. It takes 5 minutes to swap them over however and you can buy a rebuild kit that ensures they are sealing correctly on the camaro rims.
Re: 18" Camaro Wheels
Alright thanks, just picked up my set for $340 with new tires. Gonna see if I can sell the tires and sensors off the Camaro wheels to break even. I'll post pics once I get mine mounted.xcidmigs wrote:The tire in that size doesn't fit the car and even if it did would change your speedo and also trans shifting so I would say get the originals put on those wheels. Re: 18" Camaro Wheels
My only small regret is not powder coating the rims before installing them. The look would have been a bit more menacing and I wouldn't have to fight the brake dust as often. (I'm going to swap out front pads next month to solve the latter)lsxJERRY wrote:Alright thanks, just picked up my set for $340 with new tires. Put up pics when you got them on.
