Big Brakes And CT5 Rims

Post by Z09SS »

There's quite a few Caddilac CT5 rims locally that are 18" and have the correct bolt pattern for a reasonable price.
But not quite reasonable enough to just but them and find out if they fit over the big brakes.

Or even if the hub hole is the right size.

The problem with trying them is getting someone to let me.

The two sellers I've located are both like, "you can try them all you want once you pay me!"

That's suboptimal.

Maybe make sure that the wheels are from a "Big brake" CTS-V? If I remember right, the CTS-V's had a staggered wheel size...?

There may be another option here. If you can find out what year Caddy the rims are off of, first check the factory sales brochure to see if the specs are listed, you can find them at sites like auto-brochures.com. Next you may be able to get a GM part number from the rims checking parts referral sources, if so you can look it up through the industry cross references. They should give you the exact technical specs on the rim with complete measurements - Hollander for one provides info like that. It will take a bit of detective work but it's not impossible.

Just a suggestion.... good luck!

Thanks

I would search 2012 Camaro Brembo brake fitment template. assuming that you are using that big brake configuration. It is a PDF file that I cannot upload here. Also follow the instructions in the link below. Make sure to "scale" your cardboard template accurately...

My buddy has a 2008 CTS, and I borrowed a rim while he was working on his car.
