Did you see the ones I posted above? If I remember correctly, they have the same offset as our steel wheels...

These are the ones I'm planning on getting...

Tom - yes I did see those, from a couple of different places. I'm a little leery since they are described as OE but as far as I have been able to determine the factory never produced that style as an 18 and I haven't found anybody who has actually laid eyes on them. If you do get them let us know what you think of them. If it's a good wheel that would probably be my first choice.

I've actually seen them on one G8... which is how I knew about them, when I started looking for a set...

Plus, they are in the Hollander wheel catalog...

I swear I don't remember ever seeing those 6638 wheels on a G8; I'm glad somebody did. My interest is piqued, I guess I'll have to call the vendor and see what they can tell me.

You can always buy take-off Caprice-V wheels, and they are OEM, and they fit perfectly. They aren't as pricey as you would think. Several vendors sell them, and with air freight, they get here in about a week.

Tom, I will admit I haven't looked, but the Hollander data is for OE component identification, and the production GXP style wheel is 19"--I don't believe the 18" aftermarket/knock-off version would be in their data base.

What information you may have, please share--was there also something that addressed the offset specs (don't see that on the wheel links you posted)? If the steel wheels are +46mm (I think, from past research) and the G8 GT wheels are +48mm, the 2mm difference is negligible, and I don't know if any OE wheel gets closer (in 18 x 8 size).

I had the GT eighteen inch wheels on my Caprice first, and they were an exact fit, in every way.

Jim, I'm pretty sure the 6638 wheel was "base" on the standard G8 (V6) only, even though it was the same size as the wheels used with the GT/V8 package.

Bill - I'm using 6638 to refer to the GXP style 18s that Tom posted earlier in this thread, since most vendors seem to use that number.

I'd be interested in looking at Caprice-V takeoffs also if anyone can point me in the right direction. A quick google search didn't turn up anything.

I do not like chrome, but if I were to go with a Chevrolet SS clone I would get these wheels in the standard alloy.

If I waited for the right moment, I could probably find them locally. This is a good place to search for parts.
