Still wondering why more aren't considering this Camaro wheel--which clears Brembo brakes, if an upgrade is in the future:

LOL. My V is the daily driver.

I did consider those 18's seriously. I did like the extra width for more tire options but I kept gravitating to the split spoke wheel which I personally found more aesthetically pleasing. I will be doing the 6-piston Brembo upgrade after my DOD Delete but will cross that bridge when I get to it.

Those rims have a totally different look now . Powder coated and the center caps look great .

It's been a rainy day here in my part of Florida but I finally got the tires mounted and everything installed on a wet and very (very!!) dirty car. I'm using the stock silver Chevy center caps for now instead of the Holden caps but so far like the contrast these provide.

The particulars are:
New takeoff Camaro 18" wheels powder coated gloss black
Continental Extreme Contact DW Summer tires in stock 235/50-18 size
H&R 50750 Lowering springs

This lighter 18" aluminum wheel/tire combination makes the ride quality so much better. The tires have a huge affect but you can feel the damping in the shocks work better. This is something that no-one seems to mention when replacing the heavy steelies.

Now for some Brembos....

Leave them alone or paint black?

Leave 'em alone--if they get pitted or scuffed/curbed in the future, then decide on a color change--black isn't the universal answer/solution for wheels.

If the car was lowered, and all the bright trim was blacked, too, then the theme could carry to the wheels, but not as it sits in your picture.

I say black them out and do the rest at the same time, all very doable projects yourself using plasti dip and 3m vinyl products. Black and red combo together is nice the added chrome doesn't match

uacwap1,
Looks good. I agree with others. Unless you are blacking out the rest of the car, the stock silver fits in.

I blacked out most of my car so the wheels went that way too.

I may have mine done in a black chrome when I can't find a better use for spare money, but my car is black. For you though, I'd leave them as is. I think they look good in silver on your red car. It accents nicely.

Before you decide to black out all your chrome and wheels, give someone with photoshop a pic of your car and have it digitally mocked up. Blacking out chrome on a black car makes it match the paint of the car which looks okay. Swapping chrome for black on cars of different colors only works in a handful of combinations, IMO. I'm not sure red/black is one of them.

How about skin the chrome with red-chome tape? That might be cool.
