Did some test fitting of the front 2014 SS calipers. I measured the mounting bolts and looks like the length being shorter than the Camaro aren't going to be an issue. The bolts actually have about 3-4 turns extra. Too bad the rotors weren't a tick bigger as the pads hang over on the outside just a tad.

The Brembo calipers aren't meant to mount on the Caprice using Caprice rotors--they're 10mm smaller in diameter and thinner (30mm vs 32mm) than the correct 355mm rotors from SS, GXP, or Camaro SS.

Which bolts are you using--the OE PPV bolts are also 14mm but shorter by a few mm's.

Maybe I'm missing something....?

The correct 355mm rotors are on order just did a test fit. I suppose if someone wanted to cheap out they could trim the overhang off the pads.

I was measuring the PPV caliper bolt. Initially I was thinking the PPV mounting bolt wouldn't be long enough but after checking the thread engagement I am going to use the PPV bolts as they are long enough plus a few turns.

Good info....whether you choose to replace the bolts with new or not (GM says always replace as a single-use item), the PN is 11570092.

Question for those in the know. When converting the fronts to brembo are the 6pot calipers compatible with the 355mm Camaro|chevy SS rotors?

no--the 6-piston caliper is used with the 370mm rotor, which is also 2mm thicker at 34mm

WooHoo, look what the Big Brown Truck(TM) just pooped out on my driveway!! I stumbled on a set of front and rear Gen1 CTS-V calipers for the price of shipping!! They also came with a set of new Hawk brake pads and another big box full of misc. brake and AN fittings and adapters.

They're not perfect, but will be fine under steel 9C1 wheels and are fully-functional. Now to order rotors!! :D

Question , can we use the Camaro spindle and hub to make this brake swap happen . I ask because I have a chance to get them kind of cheap .

Not sure I understand your question....these brakes bolt on directly to the PPV front upright (knuckle/spindle) and the hub specs for sedans, even if different from Camaro, accept the same rotors--examples are G8 GXP and 2014>2016 SS sedans.

Rear rotors & calipers from 2015/2016 SS sedan are direct bolt-on to the PPV.

Things you have to deal with:

CTS-V 1st gen front calipers use 12mm bolts, but the PPV uses 14mm bolts--either sleeve the holes in the uprights (bushings) to use 12mm bolts, or drill & tap the ears on the front calipers to the correct 14mm thread.

CTS-V 1st gen rear calipers use 12mm bolts to mount to the rear uprights--info on correct length bolts to use is elsewhere in this thread. The transfer lines MUST be swapped end-for-end with the bleed valves to use on the PPV or any other Zeta sedan.
