Well, I'm gonna have to test that out on the Cap. I'll pull the fuse to get a code and see what happens. Like I said, it does work on my TrailBlazer.

Well, it must be a Holden thing because I tried it in the Cap and it didn't read them (I pulled the ABS fuse). On my North American made TrailBlazer, it even pulls BCM codes for the missing radio and OnStar module as well as ABS codes.

It probably is. The box the OBDII reader module came in states:

Works on all 1996 and newer vehicles sold in America
Vehicles sold in Europe: 2001 & newer petrol, 2004 and newer for diesel
Vehicles sold in Australia & NZ: 2006 and newer

I doubt Holden had much incentive or need to be 100% compatible with the US OBDII standard until they started shipping GTOs to the states, and saw opportunity to do more.
