Re: This doesn’t look right (after new struts)
I do occasionally get a familiar pop in the front suspension going over good bumps, but it IS less than before. I believe I used the image in that GM parts page. I also believe it looks a lot like it did before I installed the coil-overs, too. I have autocrossed this car a couple of times, and can confirm the suspension is quite tight and the car handles very well, especially through slaloms.

I wouldn’t think it would be common to fully unload the struts ever on these cars but yours looks like you have the wrong washer underneath the stop plate.CrashTestDummy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2019 8:34 am I do occasionally get a familiar pop in the front suspension going over good bumps, but it IS less than before. It's assembled according to all the diagrams I could find.

And this is with GM rubber bushings?CrashTestDummy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 4:25 pm Just for grins, I went out and got some crappy cell phone pictures of our current setup. BC Coil overs using factory replacement gearings and the new bushings that came with them. They've been in at least a year now.
Yes, there is a small gap between the upper bushing/disk thingy and the hole in the inner fender.

Probably not. The BC coil-overs were second-hand, and the replacement strut mount kit to replace the bearings that exploded when I took the spring compressors off the assembly. I'm certain I used a combination of parts from both kits, what I got from the PO with the struts and the bushing kit I got from the parts house.
