Gene, I thought I had fixed this thread's corrupted photos....I'll make an effort to do that today.
Send me an e-mail address (maybe I have it already) and I can send you the photos directly.

Re: brake service at 15K miles
Bill,
That's cool. I can wait, just wanting to see what all the fuss was all about. I'm a bit away from brake mods (the new parts pile is getting pretty tall, so I need to work through those, first). I'm really considering the CTS caliper/SS rotor mod, since it appears to be a low-cost option, and might remove some unsprung weight. If backing plates with ducting capability are an option, I might add them, since I'd have the rotors off anyway. Thanks.

!
decided to do my own front brakes today (I'm at 17000 miles on my 2011) since it was super nice out and I had ordered a set of replacement pads a while ago. I went with Centric Ceramic posi quiet. Interesting to see that the friction rating is listed on them as "FF" which is the same as what my OEM pads also said. I was hoping to trade a bit of braking friction for a bit less dust but I guess I'll have to report back how that goes. They were under $40 on rockauto.com Notice slightly different size of the chaphered edge also. There is also no relief cut in the middle of the pad on the stock one and I didn't measure thickness but I swear the middle portion of the pad is more worn than the outsides from the large single piston design. More proof that the Brembos are needed

Okay, I see the post now:CrashTestDummy wrote:What ducts in what picture?
Tom, the ducts are from Cadillac CTS (non-V) - PN's are:
15272166 curved duct (x2)
20772527 LH - as used in production
20772528 RH
Parts callout for CTS uses several different configurations/combinations depending on model, and this was what I thought would be best for my plans. The end result for me is that I would be using the existing fog lamp bezels as the air source, and would end up doing a new auxiliary light (fog/driving) setup in the lower center bumper cover opening. There are probably other ways to accomplish this, if you want to pursue something else, or in combination with these ducts--such as the Quantam brake cooling kit linked in my earlier reply to you.
They show up in the standard 2012 CTS V6 listing. Do they just blow air at the rotor/caliper, or attach to a dust cover somehow?

All these ducts do is introduce dedicated ambient air (from outside the vehicle) into the area behind the wheel/brake--the Lambert Quantum option would bring air more directly onto the rotor.
While I don't know how effective the design may be, for the OEM to create and tool-up for ducts like these on a street vehicle, it's not something done just to be able to say "our car has this...." - someone had to sign off and someone had to prove that it does some good to get that sign off to green light it's inclusion in the front end design. So, from that perspective, I feel like it's something worth exploring if I/we can make the pieces that I've identified (or others of similar configuration) fit and integrate into the PPV front end.

Re: brake service at 15K miles
I agree with Bill. They are there for a purpose. Ive seen various forms of brake cooling ducts on certain years of the Impala 9C1 and Tahoe PPV. And of course even the 94-96 9C1 Caprice had unique air dam sides that directed air to the front brake rotors which was noticeable when they were missing under certain conditions.
