Small transmission fluid leak, next to starter, CV axle

Post by Fudgehog »

Anyone have any experience with this? Possible that it's because the tranny is slightly overfilled? No leaks anywhere else.

Thanks, no PS leaking, and I thought maybe cooler lines but we'll see. It wasn't leaking ever until I had the front jacked up for an oil change then got the baseball sized puddle of red. Not leaking now either.

maybe someone spilled it , and it was puddled up tell you lifted it with the jack ?

though not sure what it woulda been puddle up on , and not dripped or emptied out while driving

This is actually a plausible theory although, as it smelled exactly of the Amsoil I put in when I changed the pan and filter. And of course I spilled some. Installed the flexible dipstick.

Any other leak before now I would have noticed. Kind of why I'm surprised.

That's very odd? Must have made a nice seal on it for no air to follow the fluid in. Haha. Thanks for the help will update if I have any more problems.
