Skid Plate question

Post by bluethunder »

Has anyone removed this from there car? This thing looks heavy and covers pretty much the whole oil pan area. I'm sure it provides some added rigidity also but more than likely is for added undercar protection.

is it plastic ? if so sounds like one of the under body aero panels that holden made , ive got the full 5 piece set under my 16 SS

search the G8 or SS fourms for aero underbody panels , they are held in by 6 bolts , the panels are pretty light

The skid plate could a few different things, depending on when and where it was installed.

The upfitter (KERR Industries) installs the skid plate for our cars as a factory option. You can buy them aftermarket through KERR, Setina, Pro Gaurd. They are only a couple hundred dollars and offer tons of protection.

For some reason I thought they all came from the factory with skid plates .
I plan to remove it anyhow.
