Camaro cat restriction.

Post by frbtofdth »

I just bought an 11 Camaro exhaust to use on my 15 PPV and was surprised to see the cat restriction compared to the Caprice. The Camaro has what looks like an insert that necks the pipe down to about 1.75" whereas the Caprice cat inlet measured at about 2.4". The Camaro was an L99 car though, perhaps the LS3 cats are different, I just though it weird to see that. I'll be using it though, until I get some longtubes and HFC.

From a post, way back, for size references... Also, look at the outlet size of the exhaust manifolds. 2" at the most. Even on the LS7 Camaro factory tubular tri-y header, 2". ZL1 2"...
