Has anyone done --
1- Off of the manifolds to a single 3 inch
2- To another Y
3- After the rear Y one side to a good quiet muffler the other side
4- to a straight pipe with a mechanical valve that only opens at a certain throttle percentage?? Also probably saves a good amount of weight????

Re: Exhaust system plan
A single 3” pipe should be good for about 360 hp without restriction. Though your design looks like an improvement over the factory setup, it doesn’t look like it leaves you much room for growth if that is in your plans.

Re: Exhaust system plan
What's the point here? How is this any better than true duals in 2.5" or 3" with two mufflers and cutouts before the mufflers?

Re: Exhaust system plan
I have seen LOTS of single 3 inch handle 800 plus hp and go 9.40s
I don't have any plans of going that fast or making that much power.
The goal is turbo and looking to get 600 to the wheels.

Re: Exhaust system plan
The single 3 to 2.5 or 2 "quiet time" side will be much quieter than just about any true dual.
plus it will hopefully be lighter than a duel system.

Re: Exhaust system plan
I am planning on a similar set up because I cant find an exhaust that seems to tick all the boxes for me. I was planning on some JBA headers although I'm not stuck on a brand, I'm still looking into all the options. I wanted to build dual three inch exhaust out of the header with an H-Pipe then straight back into the factory mufflers. Ideally Id love a pair of electric cutouts eventually but I'm curious how it'd sound with everything except the factory muffler deleted.
