Is that a tube aem makes for the zeta platform or from something else? Never seen it talked about.CrashTestDummy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 3:27 pmYep! Here's mine. AEM intake tube to the factory air cleaner box. Notice the hose connected to the port on the left side of the tube there. I've since wrapped it with an insulation wrap from DEI.kevink wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 1:40 pm I'm pretty sure Maurice is right. If the capped hose goes to the passenger side valve cover, it is definitely the clean or inlet side of the system. You really should connect that hose anywhere after the MAF but before the throttle body. With it capped, you have basically no air flow through the crankcase.
Probably very little performance gain, but man does the car sound sweet at anything over 3/4 throttle!!

Re: air intake
That's the AEM tube. I need to get a picture of the current setup with the DEI insulation on it.

Re: air intake
I basically did the same thing but using turbo pipes. I did use a dust collector vacuum plastic part to connect the two and also add a plastic hose barb for that PCV hose.
Works fine. Was disappointed that I don't get that "waaaaaaaaaah" sound from it at all. I get way more from the 5.3 in my 9-7x. Must be something in the filter box.

Re: air intake
the closed filter box , plus flat panel filter
the 9-7/trailblazer should have a round filter , as well as their air box is designed differently

I am perfectly happy that it did not add any noise to the car.Mooseman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 10:49 pm I basically did the same thing but using turbo pipes. I did use a dust collector vacuum plastic part to connect the two and also add a plastic hose barb for that PCV hose.

That looks nice! Do you recall what the first bend is off the throttle body? The second appears to be a 90Mooseman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 10:49 pm I basically did the same thing but using turbo pipes. Re: air intake
The first was a 45, second was a 90.
Makes sense regarding the filter. Why the bloody hell did they have to add all that ugly resonator BS then?

Re: air intake
Figured I'd revive this thread with a homemade intake I made. I used the silicone coupler and clamps on page 1. For the pipe I opted for a Spectre 110 degree 4' intake. I think the 120 degree may have worked a little better. I did have to cut the pipe so it would fit. I have to disclose, I didn't connect the PCV hose and now I have a CEL. So thats something you'll want to consider lol.
