Fuel Pump Access Under Back Seat?

Post by CapriceOut »

Hey everyone, I don't want to drop the tank to install my new fuel pump, I want to cut out an access hole under the back seat. I've seen people talking about it, but not in enough detail. If anyone has information and/or pictures to help me figure out where I need to cut the hole, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Turn out the pump is fine, but the harness connector had a burnt terminal. I 'm replacing the harness tonight. Anyone have any experience with this? Can I lower the fuel tank without having to drop it completely?

I replaced the harness through the same access hole I cut under the seat to replace the pump. Ensure you've got correct replacement harness, it's expensive and I could only find GM part, no aftermarket yet.
I'm traveling and can't load pictures, but I've got them all. Soon

Access panel cut, maybe 7in diameter

I used a dremel with cut off blades, harness is very close to underside of sheet metal, avoid cutting harness

New wire Gage (white) is thicker than old. I soldered with heat shrink instead of crimp.

Does anyone have measurements as to where to cut? I need to take a peek at my pump. Not getting fuel.
