There is a fuel smell on the right side near the rear wheels. Not much in the cabin except when I open the door the smell comes in. My car is a low mileage 2013 caprice V8 with 16,000 miles. Please tell me if any of you had similar experience. My Chevy dealer here in the Middle East us charging hefty amounts to service this out of production vehicle. Asking around $200 just to lower the tank for inspection. Would like a head start before I splash down $$ for service (I’m an expat here Incase you’re wondering ) Thank you !

Not sure if you're aware if the recall has been done, but there is a fuel module replacement something or other that has a service procedure to drop the tank. Right there, if they haven't done the recall, you can save 200 bucks on them dropping it.

Good luck, unfortunately can't help with the smell but just addressing them dinging you 200 for the tank drop.

$200 USD is not too bad to drop the tank as the driveshaft, exhaust system has to come off and rear cradle has to come down some to get the tank down. As lastcall mentioned, there is a recall on the fuel pumps that supposedly crack and start leaking.
