Re: stock exhaust diameter?
I believe none... 2.25" IIRC. If nobody can confirm that by the time I get home I'll measure the one I just removed.

EDIT: Maybe this helps... look likes both are used at different points

Re: stock exhaust diameter?
its 2 1/4" for most tubing except for some parts that are inside the various joints that necks down to like 1 7/8. You can eliminate a large restriction like that by just chopping out that center suitcase looking muffler for either straight pipes or bullets etc. I put a magnaflow X flow muffler in the middle there and have stock mufflers in back, its very quiet still. The front OEM cat pipes are still restricted but to replace that all is a big project or big $$$
Try the Badlanz versions in "low profile" made in USA and stainless. I just bought some and am going to put them in right at the 90 degree turn by the rear diff.

Re: stock exhaust diameter?
Oh no doubt. When I removed it I fired up the dumped x pipe partway through the exhaust install. I laughed at how jeckyl and hyde the car became in that moment.

2.25” isn’t nearly as bad as the 1-7/8” inlet for each front cat.lacamaro wrote:2.25 eh? Kinda small for a v-8.... hmmm well crap! lol, i will have to call in a favor at the muffler shop! ha...
