I'm looking to treat myself to some long tubes for Christmas. The price of the jba is most appealing to me.
But I just stumbled upon a picture of the header flange and I'm disappointed.
Do they look as bad in person as they do in the pics ?
Anyone have any leaks or sealing issues ?

Re: Jba header flange
The sealing surfaces look flat enough, even if they're not perfectly round, or the same width all around the primary end. They look okay to me, but you may want to peruse the G8 and SS forums to see if anyone has mentioned any sealing issues.

Re: Jba header flange
Those sealing surfaces are fine, they look just like what I had on another LS application and I used the composite GM gaskets and a thin layer of GE clear silicone and they were fine.....Go for it!! If you can swing it I highly recommend ARP header studs. And don't over tighten them.
Re: Jba header flange
that style of the weld ring around the ports has been around since about the time of headers , there is no issue with them

well I got a good black Friday deal and ordered the full JBA exhaust. The catback is for a 2014 ss sedan but I hear just the rear section has to be extended a few inches.
