To get rid of the abomination DOD lifters. That's the whole reason for going into the engine in the first place. :)

That's why I'm waiting until I need to, to pull the heads. With my initial investment in the blower, it doesn't make sense for me to pay somebody to do a cam and head swap. When the time comes, I'll have a nice little forged LS3, to go play with the bigger boys! 8-)

But chances are the cam will want a valve spring change, and I'd much rather do that off the engine....imagine dropping a valve keeper down inside the engine!
Well, at least the keeper is magnetic.

When you guys did your DOD delete are you going to the three bolt cam or sticking to the single bolt cam. I did a DOD/VVT delete on my 2013 Yukon and had to switch out the timing chain, dampner, cam sprocket, etc. to do the 3 bolt swap. And on the Caprice engines do you have to change out the crank sprocket to do the 3 bolt cam style swap?

Most people swap to three bolt cam. No need to change crank gear.

For those who have done DOD delete what bolts are installed dry, sealant, threadlocker, or antiseize? Head bolts dry? Intake bolts? Any bolts go into the water jacket?
