Any current info on a programmer, or a custom tuner in So CA

Post by Bowtie Junkman »

Most of the posts on this subject seem to be a bit dated ... exhaust is done, and soon to get my CAI ...

Is anyone making a programmer with a "canned" tune yet? Or do I have to look for a local shop to do a custom tune?
If so, anyone know a shop in So Cal that can do it?

Thanks in advance ...

I've known Tad since 1998, in the Impala SS days--be sure to let him (or Stacy) know that I referred you.

Let us know what happens if you have him do some tuning!

I have hptuners and have a few different tunes in the can as I've been playing on the dyno. I'm about 30 miles north of you or 5 hours on a Friday in traffic!

For a canned tune with no dyno time, my suggestion is Mike Carnahan <mike@vengeancepcm.com> from Vengeance Racing in Cumming, Ga. He has tuned ALL of the local police/Sheriff department Caprices, has years of experience with these cars and I can assure you... is the best at tuning these cars.

There were over 100 adjustments to the transmission programming alone... and I could not be more pleased with the results of how my 2013 Caprice drives, the fuel economy and the performance.

Send him an email... he is very busy but will respond. He will also tell you to use the EFI-Live and once I saw the differences between the EFI Live and the HP-Tuner, it was a hands down winner.

Thanks to all for all the great info ... looking into all of them ...

I was also referred by a local shop that tuned my Camaro to a guy named Shawn Ellis ... had an interesting conversation with him yesterday as well ... he claims that the tune alone on these cars (G8/Caprice/SS) can make more of a difference than most bolt-ons ...

You can NEVER have enough horsepower ... looking forward to some great results ...
